SWIFTWATER RESCUE SIGNUP
The on-river Swiftwater Rescue Training will be held on Sunday, May 18th, 2008 at 9am,
on the Arkansas River. Hosted by Clear Creek Rafting, this is an on-river (in-river!)
class intended to to train students how to swim a rapid, self-rescue techniques, throw
rope use, and flip training, conditions permitting. The class will take place rain or shine.
HCRR member price for this invaluable all-day training is $55.00. Non-members pay an
additional $25, and become 2007 HCRR members. The price includes training and the use of
a Type V lifevest and helmet for the day, if you don't have these items. A wetsuit, splash
jacket and booties are also required. If you need to rent these items, Clear Creek Rafting
will provide all three for $5.

Directions:
From Denver:
Take I-25 south to Colorado Springs, exit at #140B, and turn left at the "T" in the road.
At the second stop light (which is Hwy 115) turn right. Go south on Hwy 115 about 35 miles.
Just after you go through the town of Penrose, turn right onto Hwy 50. Stay on Hwy 50 for 20 miles.
You will go straight through the town of Canon City and continue approximately 8 more miles up
the hill towards the Royal Gorge Bridge. The office will be on the left side of the road
approximately 1/2 mile before the turn off to the Royal Gorge Bridge. It is across from Echo
Canyon, next to the Rock Shop.
From Colorado Springs: Pick up the route above on Hwy 115 (Nevada).
