Permit Party

Come hang out as we strategize and coordinate permit application dates for the upcoming river season—including popular runs on the Yampa, Green, Salmon, and more! We will also walk through the application process step-by-step.

How the Permit Process Works:

• Step 1: Coordinate Dates & Leads: At the party, we agree on target launch dates for specific rivers and assign a club contact person for each stretch so members have a point person for questions.

• Step 2: Access the Member Schedule: Agreed-upon target dates and contacts are posted on the Permits page in the Members-Only section of the website. You can apply for the primary recommended dates, nearby dates, or whatever fits your personal schedule!

• Step 3: Submit Applications (Dec 1 – Jan 31): Most river applications are submitted through Recreation.gov during the standard application window (December 1st through January 31st).

• Step 4: Track Application Details: Once you apply, enter your name, rivers, and requested dates into our shared club permit spreadsheet.

• Step 5: Build Your Trip Crew: When permit results are announced, lottery winners are encouraged to reference the club permit spreadsheet and invite fellow members who applied for that same river!
