Rookie training is a two-part introduction to whitewater rafting where new boaters are trained on the basics of whitewater rafting and later matched with experienced mentors who will provide them with real on-board instruction and guidance. The mentors will help each new initiate to rig their boats, familiarize them with river safety protocols and etiquette, and then be on board with them as they navigate the sections of the Upper Colorado River giving them real-time guidance.
Whether you are an experienced member looking to share your skills as a mentor, or a new boater ready to get your feet wet, this is a great opportunity to get involved and prepare for a safe, exciting season on the water.
