Sun, Aug 16 - Tue, Aug 18, 2026
Ladies! Join High Country River Rafters for an opportunity to celebrate the strength, skills, and community of women in the rafting world. This exclusive 3-day trip will bring joy to your spirit and create unforgettable memories as we journey on the Upper Colorado River from Two Bridges to Cottonwood Island. This is a space for women to connect, build confidence on the water, and support one another in a welcoming, encouraging environment.
Due to ongoing low water flows, this event may change. Be sure to check back regularly and keep an eye out for email announcements.
Sunday, August 16th (Launch day)
9:00 AM | Rigging: Meet at the Two Bridges boat ramp, inflate rafts, duckies, and put boats in the water.
10:00 AM | Orientation & Shuttle: Drive vehicles to Cottonwood Island (take-out), leave vehicles, and drive several "shuttle" vehicles back to the put-in (about 2 hours round trip).
12:00 PM | Safety Talk & Launch: We will hold a safety briefing. Float 6.5 miles to Cottonwood Bend.
Monday, August 17th
10:00 AM | After breakfast we will load the rafts, and float to our next campsite. We are aiming to try to camp at Jack Flats which is 15.3 miles away. This day there are two rapids, Rodeo Rapid (III) and Pinball Rapid (III).
Tuesday, August 18th
10:00 AM | Final morning after breakfast we will break camp and head downstream. Arrive at Cottonwood Island take-out. This is 11.7 miles away. We will de-rig, load the vehicles, and begin the drive home by late afternoon.
Free!
Additional trip expenses, including food and equipment costs, will be settled after the trip.
We will be shuttling our vehicles ourselves. We may decide to pay a shuttle company, to drive the one or two "return vehicles" to our take-out destination.
All meals (breakfasts and dinners) are shared by the group. After you have registered, use the button below to see who's joining and sign up for group gear & meals on the spreadsheet's tabs.
Please be sure to bring your usual safety gear including a PFD, whistle and helmet. We care about you!
⚠️ The Upper Colorado river has several technical sections with varying levels of rapids that can change depending on the flows. Please let us know if you have questions, concerns, or would like to scout a rapid before running it. If you do not feel comfortable in your whitewater rafting skills, please reach out to other members to see if they can take you on as a passenger, or make other arrangements.
Participants must register in advance and be current HCRR members. Additionally, each participant must register individually.
